Ilay's journey

This is my story.

In seventh grade, I was looking for a solution that truly fit my needs. I did not need more hours of tutoring. I needed the right person to understand why those hours were not helping.

Hours of effort

No matter how hard I worked, my geometry grade would not improve.

I studied for hours. I tried online tutoring and in-person tutoring. I was learning geometry, but I still could not understand what my teacher wanted me to show in class and on the exam.

Ten minutes with a classmate

Then I asked a classmate to explain it to me.

My classmate looked at the problem and understood exactly where I was stuck. He showed me the method that had worked for him in the same class. Somehow, those ten minutes were more useful than all the hours I had spent online.

The realization

The right help was already inside my school.

I realized that schools do not always need to search outside for every solution. Students already carry knowledge, experience, language, and trust that can help other students succeed.

What was missing

A safe way to connect the student who needs help with the student who can help.

That is where Neechu began. A way to find the right peer, for the right class, at the right moment.

How do I find help if my class or school is not listed?

Search by class, topic, language, time, and format. If your school is not listed, register your interest privately. Neechu can show leaders the total demand without sharing student names.

How does a student become an approved tutor?

The applicant completes a profile and Tutor Code of Conduct. A teacher confirms academic readiness. For ages 14-17, a parent or guardian must consent and the school must verify the required work permit. An authorized payroll provider completes work-authorization and payroll onboarding outside Neechu. A school administrator opens teaching access only after every required step is complete. Students under 14 are not eligible for paid tutoring in this pilot.

Where do sessions and follow-up happen?

Meet in an approved school room or, when enabled, use a protected online workspace. Booking-linked messages and files keep follow-up in one place.

How do payment and school funding work?

You see the approved rate before booking. Families pay Neechu when payments are enabled; eligible tutors are paid through the authorized payroll process. Schools are not required to fund sessions, but may choose to buy or provide credits. Payment is not yet enabled in this pilot.

How does Neechu protect students?

Only approved roles and matched participants can access profiles, messages, files, and bookings. Schools set consent and meeting rules. If something feels wrong, report it in Neechu and tell a trusted adult or school administrator.
